I love all kind of burger patties and since I always enjoy trade mark of burgers I decided to try one of this vegetarian recipe. Remarkably high in protein and fiber,can be seasoned in different types depending on what you are craving.
Exactly what one needs! RIGHT? 🙂
Crisp on the outside, hearty from inside with the selection of fresh vegetable to enjoy the taste in every single bite. Usually, with traditional burgers it all about good quality mince meat, mixing in some seasoning and adding interesting toppings of your choice, but here you want to make sure these meat free patties are flavorful and delicious to satisfy the taste buds.
Lets gather some ingredients and involve the bowl of our food processor;
- 2 Cups of black beans drained can/boiled
- 1 Small onion
- 1/2 Cup shredded carrot
- 1/4 Cup bell pepper
- 1 Cup peas
- 1 Cup sweet corn
- 2-3 Spring onions
- 1/2 Cup rolled oats
- 2-4 Green chilies chopped
- Some chopped cilantro
- 2 Grated garlic cloves
- 1/4 Tsp freshly grated turmeric
- 1/2 Tsp Black pepper, chili powder, onion powder, cumin powder, lemon pepper
- 1/4 Tsp garam masala powder
- Coconut oil for frying

- To get started grind the oats, onions, chilies, garlic and turmeric.
2. Next add in the carrots, beans, peppers and spices. Grind every thing together till its all mixed together not mushy.





Serve with your favorite burger ingredients – mayonnaise spread on buns, lettuce, tomato, cheese or some fermented veggies. Whatever you fancy!
In mood for a proper platter add some home-made sweet potato fries and you have got a great meal. Enjoy!

I have keep it relatively simple with the basic ingredients but you are free to play around add your own spices .Options are endless! Sometimes, i double the recipe and freeze them in advance for stress free weekday dinner. People who are following a no- carb diet can have these patties with a serving of greens.They sure pair well with any of your healthy side dishes.
KITCHEN NOTE
The texture of these patties is little on the softer side than the regular ones as they are made with black beans make sure the beans are completely drained and have no extra moisture in them.Coconut oil pairs well for pan frying here as it treats to flavorful fried goodness and one of the healthiest option for achieving crunchy,golden crust.
