The first step towards a happily healthy lifestyle is solving my Kitchen Jigsaw.I have designed this jigsaw so as to solve it through the 3 core kitchen puzzle pieces namely,

  1.  Menu Planning
  2.  Palatable Pantry
  3. Specialty of Spices

MENU PLANNING

To promote healthier choices, menu planning is an important task. It saves time as well as money. Usually I would visit grocery store with a running list of items from my fridge yet every morning I’d still question myself, “What should I cook today?” If I ever picked a new recipe it required a list long of ingredients which would never relate to each other. And eventually I would end up with a lot of waste.

PLAN AND PREPARE

Monitoring my family needs and keeping nutrition geared my preparation for a two -week menu plan with rotating meals followed by the grocery list accordingly. Overtime I found it the most productive step to have good fuel for our body.

It looks like a lot of work but believe me a practical plan always works! You will eat REAL FOOD with variety. No last minute stress and decision about a meal, no short cuts, I promise! 🙂

PALATABLE PANTRY

34601686_10212262407982045_5960865735797374976_nPantry is another story. First thing we all love is a clutter -free space that is real relief. The easiest approach no matter how much space we have is to cut down plastic baggies and boxes. Put contents in a container or Ziploc in the baskets.
Now, it’s time for L.A.B.E.L.S the best way to put things in order forever. Writable labels or free printables, no more mess. It’s like dress up. I am a huge fan of labels and  using these labels since years absolutely love them i found over

PANTRY RULES
No canned items (to control salt, sugar and sodium intake)
Variety of healthy oils which i keep switching in my cooking (olive oil, grape seed oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, peanut oil ,sesame oil and ghee)
• Ensure to have no processed,Instant foods and  less refined carbs .More whole grains, legumes and beans

SPECIALTY OF SPICES

Each one of us from different cultures has a palate of spices. Seasoning and spices not only enhance the flavor but it is also important for overall health. It aids in weight loss, improves circulation and improves quality of sleep. I will share my ways of using spices and herbs as a finished touch.
